Why I built TradeScope

I'm Tim Bombardieri — a solo builder based in Revelstoke, BC. I built TradeScope because I kept seeing the same problem: skilled Canadian trades losing money on jobs they priced correctly, because the paperwork let them down. A vague quote, no exclusions clause, no change order process — and the client ends up getting weeks of extra work for free.

TradeScope is my attempt to fix that. A free, fast, professional scope of work generator built specifically for how Canadian trades actually work — with the right regulatory references, the right clauses, and none of the generic US-focused template nonsense.

It's free because I want contractors to actually use it. Pro features are coming — but the core tool will always be free.

Yes — completely free to use. Generate as many scope of work documents as you need with no account, no credit card, and no usage limits. The free version includes all clauses, all trades, and full PDF download. A Pro tier with custom branding and e-signature is in development.
Is this a legally binding document? +
TradeScope generates a professional draft scope of work document. It is not legal advice. Always review the document before sending it to a client, and consider having a lawyer review it for high-value projects. A signed scope of work does create a legally binding agreement in Canada — which is why reviewing it before signing matters.
Which provinces does TradeScope cover? +
TradeScope is currently optimised for British Columbia, Canada. The trade-specific context includes BC Building Code, Technical Safety BC, WorkSafeBC, BC Builders Lien Act, and BC-specific permit requirements. Alberta and Ontario support is coming in a future update.
What trades does TradeScope support? +
TradeScope covers 8 trades: Electrician, Plumber, HVAC Technician, Roofer, Carpenter, Painter, Landscaper, and General Contractor. Each trade has trade-specific language and regulatory context built in. More trades are coming based on user feedback.
